What is XR?
Extinction Rebellion Australia (XR Aus) is part of a worldwide movement to halt mass extinction and minimise risk of social collapse.
We use civil disobedience to demand that our governments act now on the climate and ecological emergency. XR is non-violent. We act in full public view and take responsibility for our actions, supported by our principles and values.

OUR DEMANDS

TELL THE TRUTH
Governments must tell the truth by declaring a climate and ecological emergency, working with other institutions to communicate the urgency for change.
02.
ACT NOW
Governments must act now to halt biodiversity loss and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero and beyond as fast as humanly possible.
03.
BEYOND POLITICS
Governments must create and be led by the decisions of a Citizens’ Assembly on climate and ecological justice.

Mobilising 3.5% of the population to achieve system change – using ideas such as “Momentum-driven organising” to achieve this.

Creating a culture which is healthy, resilient and adaptable.

Leaving our comfort zones to take action for change.
