Spring Rebellion – A national declaration of civil disobedience

Join us for a week of action

We are facing an unprecedented global emergency. Life on Earth is in crisis: scientists agree we have entered a period of abrupt climate breakdown, and we are in the midst of a mass extinction of our own making. Australia is one of the most uniquely biodiverse countries in the world. Most of our wildlife is found nowhere else on the planet, and yet – we are failing to protect it.

Our Government is failing us. We have a moral duty to rebel, whatever our politics. Extinction Rebellion is an movement of non-violent civil disobedience to achieve radical change in order to minimise the risk of human extinction and ecological collapse.

Our Demands

  1. Tell the Truth

Government must tell the truth by declaring a climate and ecological emergency, working with other institutions to communicate the urgency for change.

  2. Act Now

Government must act now to halt biodiversity loss and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2025.

  3. Beyond Politics

Government must create and be led by the decisions of a Citizens’ Assembly on climate and ecological justice.
